AVON AVON AVON - Make more money with YOUR AVON BUSINESS!

I ran across these tips somewhere long ago I can't remember where. There are some good ideas here, the important point is to be creative and think of any and all ways to get the word out. Remember your brochure is your store front, all your inventory is there, the more people that see your products the more sales you'll make!

1 Take advantage of the advertising of others.
2. Call others about their ads and offer them your service.
3. Post flyers in apartments.
4. Leave catalogs at beauty salons and nail shops.
5. Wear a badge.
6. Wear buttons.
7. Approach bake sales with a fund raiser.
8. Let your bank know what the deposit is for. Give the teller a catalog.
9. Barter-Trade your product/service.

10. Hang a flyer inside a bathroom stall door. Captive audience.
11. Always have a catalog in your car or purse.
12. Use bumper stickers.
13. Let everyone you ever worked with know what you do.
14. Make a goal to give out a certain number of cards per day.
15. Hand out your business card with all transactions each day. Always ask for a business card in return.
16. Free lunch drawings. Put your card in fish bowls.
17. Get a restaurant to sponsor your drawing.
18. Magnetize your business card.
19. Use your card as a bookmark in the library books. Leave them in the books when you return them.
20. Instead of tear flyers use your business card at the bottom of the flyer.
21. Look for bulletin boards and leave a flyer.
22. Hang a sign on your car window about your business.Â
23. Dream shop on e-bay
24. Fundraiser Car Washes--stop in and tell them of your fundraiser.
25. Put up catalogs in all waiting rooms.
26. Join a club or network group.
27. Corporate Gift Giving. Offer your product.

28. Leave a lead box in businesses you go to a lot.
29. Go door to door--introduce yourself and your business
30. Look on the internet for new bulletin boards to post your product.
31. Fast food, where the Moms are.
32. Always keep flyers with you to hand out.
33. Former Business Associates.
34. Former Customers
35. Go to garage sales. Give them flyers to pass out for you. Offer a gift incentive.
36. Wear a name tag to the grocery store.
37. Home Shows
38. Home Owner Association. Put an ad in their paper.
39. College newspapers and bulletin boards.
40. Hospital waiting rooms--Always leave a catalog.
41. Always wear a logo to the health club.
42. Do cross-promotions with other businesses

As you can see there are many ways for you to "get the word out there", there is no being timid here. If you're serious about building your Avon business you NEED to be on top of it and that includes the marketing of your business. I suggest you make an effort to add to this list, think of your own ideas and put them to work, some will work better than others some won't work at all but you won't know until you try.

Direct Sales Tips AVON - Live it Breathe it BELIEVE in it!

As a direct salesperson, you serve a vital function in our society. You create a market for products. To be a good salesperson you must take pride in your profession, be it part-time or full-time. Below are eight sales tips to help you along in selling your products.

1.  YOU MUST honestly believe and feel that what you are selling is a worthwhile and honest value in order to be a success in selling. When you have the conviction that you are selling a worthwhile product, you will sell with enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is contagious. When the prospect becomes enthusiastic, he buys.

2. Don't be impatient. Too many inexperienced salespeople call on one or two prospects and quit if they don't get immediate results. It takes time for people to gain confidence in you and your products. Many people will buy at once, but a big proportion will wait to think things over.

Most of your business will eventually be repeat orders from customers. Almost all business depends on repeats. A retail establishment will lose money for quite a period until they build up a flow of repeat customers. Any worthwhile endeavor requires effort. The amount of money you will make will be directly proportional to the effort you put forth.  Some believe there is an innate trait that makes some people good at sales and others failures. Several marketing authors have dispelled this fallacy. You can and will make money selling your products if you put forth an effort.

3. Be yourself. Many people visualize a successful salesperson as a hail and hearty person with an outgoing personality. If they are not the image of what they expect is a success, they try to imitate. I recently read..., "One of our most successful salespeople is a man who 'never sold a thing in his life' before he joined us. He turned to selling in desperation, when he lost his job and needed an income to support his family. He didn't like to dress in a jacket or tie so he called on his prospects in his everyday "house" clothes. He was terrified at selling and the first two calls took more courage than he thought he had. He sold both prospects! When you are not yourself, you'll appear phony." Just act your natural self, and you will do well.

4. Don't try to sell by force. If you do pressure a person into buying something they don't want, you haven't developed a customer.

5. Don't plead. "Please try my product because I need the money badly." Maybe you'll get a sympathy sale, but again, you haven't developed a customer.

6. Emphasize value, need and satisfaction, and your prospect will buy if you can explain to him that your product is a good value, it serves a need, and that he or she will derive pleasure or satisfaction from the sale. Of course, you must know your product before you can convince others that it is worthwhile buying.

7. Ask for the sale. Closing the sale is the critical part of any sales approach. You must not be afraid to ask for the order. The close naturally depends upon the proper overall presentation. If you have shown the prospect that your product has value, need, or potential enjoyment, you're ready to ask for an order.

Test closes are made by asking, "Which do you prefer the peach or the aqua color? I can deliver your order overnight, or would Saturday be preferable?"

8. Set goals for yourself. When you're in sales you must be self motivated. You won't have any boss or foreman telling you what to do and when. It becomes too easy to find excuses for not making calls unless you establish goals for yourself. Keep accurate records of all sales by the week and by the month.

More Avon Customers More AVON Sales

Finding More Avon Customers & Increasing Your Sales.

The main difference between a successful Avon Representative and one that is struggling is the amount of customers that they have. Find more customers and invariably you'll increase your sales. So that's all well and good, but once you've gone through all your family and friends, how DO you find more people that want to buy Avon? Here are some of my favorite tips for increasing your customer base.
You've all heard the tips for standing in parking lots or shopping centres to hand out brochures right? Well I don't know about you but I hate going up to perfect strangers and introducing myself. Sure you can say "Hi, I'm Cindy an Avon Representative, would you like a brochure?', and I'm sure it would work sometimes - but I don't know about you, but I hate just approaching people I don't know trying to get new business.
So instead you need to think smarter about your Avon business.
The two main areas you'll need to concentrate on is marketing and advertising, just like a regular business.
  • Getting business cards is a good idea (get them free from Vistaprint whenever they have deals) or print them yourself on your home printer.
  • You can make flyers, brochures, postcards or just use the avon brochure with your avon selling strategy.
So, Here are Some Quick Avon Flyer Ideas
Creating Avon flyers is a great way to get your name out there. Most flyers have those tear off tabs at the bottom which are great, but let's face it, most people lose them as they are pretty flimsy.
Instead why not attach a few business cards to your flyers - then the customer can grab one from your flyer and then keep it in her wallet longer (much better than tiny bits of paper).
Also when creating your flyers, only use ONE idea per flyer. For example - promote ONE product on your flyer - 'did you know that for May only, Avon lipsticks are just $2.99? - call me for your colour selection'. Don't try and crowd the paper with lots of products or services.
Think About WHO Your Customer Is
Put your business thinking cap on - what type of customers are interested in buying avon products? Stay at home moms who can't get to the shops easily, older couples who arn't so mobile any more, regular busy working women?
Now think about where they hang out: Moms - at home, Working Women - offices, Elderly Women - home or retirement village.
Your next step is to create a marketing strategy around your specific customer.
Let's use the stay at home mom as an example.
She doesn't have a lot of time (who does these days!) so make things easy for her to buy from you. Create a Mom Pamper Pack!
In the pack include a brochure, your business card, a few samples, and order form and an envelope. Put it in a nice little bag (see through ones are best - I've found using freezer bags from the grocery store are great and very economical).
Put a nice message or note attached to the front of the bag or brochure. Something like: "I thought you would enjoy some time out for yourself, enjoy the samples and if you ever need to order anything just put the order form in the envelope and I'll be around at Friday 10a.m. to collect it, Take care and have a great day, Cindy".
Hang the brochure on her door knob or leave at the front step.
It's friendly - non threatening and likely to get a good response. I'd continue doing it each few weeks too until she orders or tells you that she isn't interested in buying avon.
Your avon selling goal for this strategy:
Try and add ONE new customer each campaign for the next 10 campaigns. You should be able to pick up one new customer for every 10 or 15 packs you give out.

Marketing AVON - More Strategies

Call On The People
Who Aren't Being Called On

If you've ever been in a position to make cold calls as a salesperson, I don't have to tell you it's no fun. It's even less fun if you are calling on the same people as other salespeople. So, why do it? Why not call on the people who aren't being called on.
Most calls are made from a company prepared list or the phone book. You start at the beginning of the list and work to the end. Customers in the first half of the alphabet get lots of calls the second half get fewer. Most people never make it to the end of the list.
If you have an A-Z list, start at the Z end and work backwards. These people will be more receptive to your sales message because they get fewer of them. If you break the alphabet into sections, always start at the end of the section you are given and work backwards.

SO IMPORTANT!

The most important order you ever get from a customer is the second order.

Why? Because a two-time buyer is twice as likely to buy again as a one-time buyer.

Sink your teeth in - don't let go....

Be tenacious in your vision

Don't be discouraged by setbacks. They aren't failures. Failure is simply failing to persevere. Whatever you are doing, if you are getting any kind of results, persevere.

Making More Money by Understanding your Market - AVON

Never Assume

a. Never assume any of the following:

1. The customer can't afford it.

2. The customer won't buy it.

3. The customer doesn't understand the product.

4. The customer won't buy more than one.

5. The customer won't price your competitors.

6. The customer won't like you.

b. On the other hand, don't assume the opposite is true either.

c. Have confidence in your product or service and the need it fills.

Take Little Bites

a. Eskimos eat whales, and tiny termites eat mighty houses the same way.... a bite at a time.

b. Starting a company or introducing a new product is a monumental task if you approach it as a done deal. General Motors didn't start at its present size, its doors opened on the first day of business with no customers just like yours.

c. Good management, a good product properly positioned, and a "never give up" attitude.

d. Even with small bites the meal may become more than you can swallow.

NOTE: In the September 1992, issue of Success magazine is the story of Herb Vest. He started a company that was against CPA regulations in every state. He financed his business with personal credit cards. At one time he was $400,000 in debt and had judgments filed against him. The bank repossessed his car. But he never gave up. "I always knew I'd succeed." he said. Nine years later 9 states had changed the rules and Vest is CEO of a $36 million company. This is the kind of determination, drive and attitude it takes to be successful...Do you have that kind of determination, drive and attitude?

Marketing - ITS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THOUGHT!

Three Secrets of Marketing

a. You must be committed. Commit the money and leave it alone. Plant the seeds that will grow later.

b. You must be consistent. Why does McDonalds advertise every day on every channel? Is there anyone in the USA who hasn't heard of McDonalds? The marketing message must be constantly reinforced. Your customers will forget you if they don't hear from you.

c. You must be confident. Most marketing plans take at least 60 - 90 days to produce even minimum results. Be patient, your efforts will pay off in the long run.

Never Underestimate the power of THANK YOU!

"Thank You" - Magic Words

a. Thank customers with a special offer.

b. Thank anyone who refers business to you with a personalized thank you card, phone call, discounts, flowers, dinner or even a commission.

c. Thank your reliable suppliers with a letter and increased orders.

d. People will remember your kindness.

Your Sales Flyer....making it work.

Making MORE money with your Avon Home Business requires you DO more.  Simply dropping books and waiting is clearly going to get discouraging.  You need to swarm your targeted areas, Avon is very well known on its own but YOU aren't.  Half the job is done, you need to step up on your end of the deal.

Repetition is key.  You never just see a commercial on the telly ONCE.  You are bombarded, often times to the point where as you know the script and can sing the jingle, right?

Keep the messsage SIMPLE, succint.  And change up your flyer and your hit list.  But repetition is key.  (namely; AVON - and YOUR PARTICULARS) Research shows that a message must be repeated to be remembered.  Don't try to produce ads that win awards, produce ads that sell.

Using the flyer method assures you of keeping your costs to a minimum as opposed to just dropping books.
Make the effort to put a super priced product - just one - on your flyer.  Each batch of flyers, a different super sale priced item.  But consistantcy, and repeptition - its more than okay to hit the same neigborhood. In fact its crucial.

Scoop on getting an increase in your customer base...

How to Get 20 (or more) Avon Customers in just two weeks!

You are able to go about this challenge using any method you choose, however as a guideline we have included some suggested ways below:

Suggested Methods:

For those with current Avon customers

If you currently have existing customers, then this challenge will be a lot easier.

Suggested Supplies:

  • Double the amount of Brochures you usually get
  • Free Gifts (of your choosing - something that hasn't cost you much but looks valuable)

Give your existing customers 2 brochures instead of one. Either tell them that you are doing a challenge and need to get more customers (they love to help out!) or place a stickynote on the front that says:

"This brochure is for one of your special friends. Please pass it on to them and let them know I would love to help them out too - and if they order, I will give you a free gift as a thank-you"

For finding new Avon customers

Suggested Supplies:

  • 100 x Brochures
  • Business Cards - (FREE from VistaPrint or print your own)
  • 10 x flyers
  • 25 x samples

As we only have 100 or so Avon brochures then tossing isn't going to cut it this time (since that usually only picks up 1 or 2 customers and our goal is 20).

We have to be a bit smarter and leave our brochures where lots of people go. Think about the place where lots of people hang out in your town. Is it a community centre, a coffee shop, a post office?

That is where you want to leave your brochures.

I like to add a funny label too. My favorites are:

"I'm a lonely brochure. Please take me home and make me feel loved by reading me"
"Congratulations - You've just picked up lucky brochure number 36 - call me for your free prize"
"Beauty comes from within - from within the pages of this brochure"

Flyers

Make up some simple flyers to add to your community noticeboards around town.

Make the message super simple and add an image if you like. Something like:

"Avon lipsticks - now only $5.00!"
"Reese Witherspoon uses Avon, do you?"

Instead of using tear off pull tabs with your contact details - attach a few business cards to the flyer. They are much sturdier and don't get lost in people's pockets.

Give out Samples

If you are feeling a bit brave, hand out some business cards with an Avon sample attached to them to women in your area.

If you are too shy to talk to anyone, leave a business card with your sample attached in a public restroom. The best restrooms to leave your cards in are ones where business women tend to go (so think office buildings, gyms, malls etc).

I hope some of these ideas help get you started!

Good luck on your challenge!
